| Next Evolution of BIM: Open Collaborative Design Across the Board Viktor Várkonyi, CEO, Graphisoft AECbytes "Viktor Várkonyi, CEO of Graphisoft, discusses the implementation of "open" design collaboration workflows, which are in the best interest of all parties involved in an AEC project, given the plurality of their design tools and processes." | "Thou Shalt Collaborate…": Interdisciplinary Collaboration Strategies in the Age of BIM "Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a recent initiative in the building industry, is a de-facto call to action for collaboration. However, collaboration is not new to the building industry, or even to humanity—being capable of effective collaboration is one of the foundation stones of human society." | AIA 2010 Virtual Convention and Expo "The AIA show was well timed for Graphisoft as it had recently released the new version 14 of its BIM application, ArchiCAD, which continues to build upon the revolutionary model-based collaboration capability that had been introduced in ArchiCAD 13. ArchiCAD 14 opens up the collaboration capability further to the extended design team by using the IFC to enable what Graphisoft refers to as 'open design collaboration' between architects and engineers." | GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD 14 on AECMag.com by Martyn Day "As for this release, it certainly builds on an excellent version 13 and introduces new capabilities for firms that are struggling with BIM data exchange and round tripping…ArchiCAD speaks IFCs, which means that less intelligence is lost in combining files to build a complete data model." | Archicad 14 Solves the BIM Roundtrip Problem by upFront.eZine "ArchiCAD 14 enables its BIM model to deal with the specific needs of structural engineers, using IFC as the communications link, because it is used worldwide, and because it preserves BIM data when exported and imported." | ArchiCAD and Revit IFC workflow by James Wan "GRAPHISOFT does the right thing. They act like a BIM OS, trying to include everything and everybody. ADSK does the opposite. They exclude everybody not using their products. That's not what I really want from a customers point of view." - user comment by rpict Lea el artículo completo aquí... |
| ArchiCAD 14 Eases Model Sharing and Updating between Architects and Engineers by Nancy Spurling Johnson "So you want to share data seamlessly for review by your structural or MEP engineer, for model coordination, or for code checking and analysis in any mainstream software solution — then just as easily import model changes back to your design? New features in ArchiCAD 14 aim to support just that." Lea el artículo completo aquí... |

| Looks like ArchiCAD 14 is out and giving Revit a run for its money "In the long run, it's about providing solutions, not boxes of software. I hope every software vendor figures that one out. Considering how vast, complex and interactive BIM has become, we're going to need a lot more people who can tell the story and deal with different file types." Lea el artículo completo aquí... |
| ?Open for cooperation ?"The implementation of BIM technology in the design and construction industries results in the demand for exchanging the complete BIM information among all participants on the same project. Ideally, the exchange should run smoothly, regardless of the software used. Every designer and engineer should use the software that is best for them and is what they are used to."
